ARKO 공공미술 시범 사업인 황금산 프로젝트 중 제작된 ‘옛 선감 이야기 지도’는 현재 대부도 해양생태 문화해설사회의 회장이신 김선철(KIM Sun chul)이 제작한 ‘대부도 옛 이야기 해설지도’를 기초로 감수와 자문을 받고 현장답사를 통해 작가 조민아(CHO Min ah)가 제작하였다.

시화방조제와 간척사업으로 인해 변모한 대부도에서 선감도와 불도, 탄도를 중심으로 이 곳의 옛 모습과 구전으로만 전해졌던 이야기, 명칭을 지도 위에 이미지로 구성하여 살고 있는 주민들과 관광객에게 지역의 역사와 지명을 더 쉽게 이해하고 잊혀져 가는 예전의 지형과 모습을 기록한 작업이다.

The ‘Old Seon-gam Story Map’ made for the Golden Mountain Project (Hwang geum_ san Project), which is an ARKO public art demo business, was made by CHO Min ah through field surveys under supervision and consultation, based on the ‘Explanatory Map of Dae-bu Island’s Old Story’ made by KIM Sun Chul who is currently the chairman of the Dae-bu Island Marine Ecology Cultural Exposition Society. Work was done to construct on a map an image going from Dae-bu Island, which has changed due to the Si-hwa embankment and land reclamation project, to areas focusing around Seon-gam Island, Bul Island, and Tan Island, embodying this place’s old images with names and stories that were only orally transmitted so that the area’s history and names could be more easily understood by its residents and tourists and to record its old topography and images as they are being forgotten.
